Windows 7 Snap Feature for Mac, Vista and Windows XP

Snap is a cool and a convenient feature of Windows 7 operating system. Snap lets you place two documents or windows side by side on the desktop of your desktop or laptop. So you can easily compare between two windows or documents. It is real easy to do and you can retrieve the original positions of the documents at any time easily. Though Snap is primarily a Windows 7 feature, you can also use it on Windows XP or Windows Vista with the help of a different application.


How to use Windows 7 Snap feature

Here are the steps to use the Snap feature on two windows and documents.

  1. Open two windows or two documents. It does not matter whether they are minimized or maximized.
  2. Drag one of the windows or documents to the right or left corner of the desktop until a border appears, covering half of the screen.
  3. Release the document. The document is now snapped to your chosen corner.
  4. To take the document back to its earlier position, just drag the document back a bit.

Snap feature is not, by default, available for Windows XP and Windows Vista and you need AeroSnap, another application to snap documents. AeroSnap is a free tool.
